I’ve been around windsurfing and watersports long enough to know that David Ezzy knows a thing or two about designing sails.

Incredibly Well Thought Out Design
That experience is clearly evident in the Ezzy Flight. This is a wing that feels incredibly well thought out from the moment you pick it up.
The first thing that strikes me is the super-rigid air frame and beautifully controlled canopy. The Flight has the sort of crisp, locked-in feel I’d associate with wings using much more exotic materials – yet Ezzy has managed to keep the price impressively competitive.
On the Water
On the water, it’s an absolute joy.

Upwind moves are particularly satisfying. The Flight passes through the wind effortlessly, making tacks feel smooth and predictable. There’s no feeling of the wing hanging up or getting in the way as you transition. It simply flows with you.
And flow is probably the best word for its freestyle potential. The Flight’s compact nature makes spins, twirls and all manner of flow-style moves hugely enjoyable. There’s enough freedom to throw the wing around without feeling like you’re wrestling with it.
Rewarding Performance All Round
There’s also a surprising amount of lift. That makes jumping properly rewarding, but it’s equally useful when getting onto foil. The same positive lift and efficient power delivery can be tapped into during pumping, helping generate those crucial early bursts of power when you’re trying to get airborne.
The boom deserves a mention too. I absolutely love it. It gives you a natural connection to the wing and makes moving your hands around for manoeuvres intuitive.
A Wing For Everyone
Ultimately, I reckon the Flight works for almost everyone. Advanced riders will appreciate its performance, handling and versatility, while beginners get access to genuinely premium-feeling equipment without having to spend a fortune.
Better still, it’s a wing you can grow into rather than grow out of.

Great performance, great aesthetics and a great price. The Ezzy Flight is a seriously compelling package and you’d do well to take note…
